Road Trip to the East of England Sustainable Building Network

Our GC Robertson team, joined by colleagues from JMS Engineers, hit the road bright and early last week for the East of England Sustainable Building Network in Norwich.

We set off at 7am in our trusty electric car, ready for a smooth journey… until the sat nav had other ideas. Instead of the main road, we found ourselves winding through fields on the outskirts of Norwich. The upside? Some unexpectedly stunning countryside views. The other upside? Knowing that when we arrive, a full English breakfast awaits us.

Once we arrived, we were welcomed into a fantastic networking session hosted by Cannon Clarke Architects. The highlight of the morning was Paul Inch’s engaging talk on Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and industrialised construction – packed with practical insight into how these methods are reshaping project delivery and boosting efficiency.

It was a great chance to catch up with familiar faces, meet new ones, and swap ideas on how to keep sustainability at the forefront of our industry.

At GC Robertson, we’re passionate about working collaboratively to deliver projects that are safe, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible. Events like this remind us how important it is to keep the conversation going – and, in our case, to keep an eye on the sat nav too.
