Beams, Burgers & Bowling Balls

GC Robertson X JMS Engineers

What happens when GC Robertson takes a break from designing infrastructure and joins JMS Engineers for a night of ten-pin chaos?

A lot of laughs.
A few pints.
And at least one bowling technique that defied both logic and biomechanics.

Our Ipswich and Norwich friends invited us out for some well-earned team bonding – and naturally, we accepted. Who could say no to a night of competitive sport, “beef” burgers (quotation marks very much needed), and the chance to prove once and for all who the real engineering athletes are?

Let’s talk highlights.

Max and Alex may have taken the win on paper (we’re still contesting that via the Bowling Standards Authority), but the real standout was Piotr and his hypnotic, avant-garde bowling form. Think interpretive dance meets physics experiment. The pins didn’t know what hit them. Or rather, they mostly didn’t – a lot of balls swerved like they had better places to be.

There were chips. There were drinks. There were questionable fashion choices (we’re looking at you, non-bowling shoes). And there was a whole lot of cheering, jeering, and general team spirit.

Honestly? It was great to step away from the drawings and deadlines, and just enjoy a night out with our collaborators-turned-rivals-turned-back-to-collaborators-again.

We may not have taken home a trophy… but we’re 90% sure we left with the moral victory.

Got a project coming up?
Whether it’s drainage, civils, or structural support, we promise to bring the same level of precision, partnership, and passion we brought to the lanes – minus the interpretive dance.
